If we imagine that our children are like caterpillars, then do we allow the caterpillar to emerge from the chrysalis naturally, honoring its uniqueness, providing the right environment for its development, or do we spend our energies foolishly trying to staple wings on it?

 

 

As we put the educational pieces together for our students, our willingness to explore equity issues together remains a necessary precursor to designing the learning environments that will prepare our students for the world they are destined to inherit.
